A bit of Zen by ev on 26 August 2008 9:54pm

Write your favourite 'bit of Zen' here!

Or make one up!

Ok here's the first bit of Zen:

"When you get there, there isn't any there there."

"No need to hurry. 'Being here' and 'going there' are as good as 'being there'."

From:http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=103584&;dict=CALD

zen (RELAXED) Show phonetics
adjective UK INFORMAL
relaxed and not worrying about things that you can not change:

There's nothing you can do to change the situation so you just have to be a bit more zen about it.

What goes up must come down,
Spinning Wheel got to go round,
Talking 'bout your troubles and you never learn,
Ride a painted pony, let the Spinning Wheel turn..
p.s.:What is Zen? Congrats,Evan,on starting a topic which is a bit unorthodox.

Zen by Ken, well then!
(I don't know if that's Zen or not but it rhymes.)

Re: A bit of Zen by bIG bLOGGER on 27 August 2008 5:40pm

Sorry,Ken,then,but I don't think that's quite Zen. (Try again..)
Note to ev: If,when you get there, there turns out not to be any there there, well how in fact do you know you are THERE? RSVP. (you may use Zen in your answer)

"Do not worry if there is nothing there. Lie down and rest, let your thoughts provide the happiness."

bIG bLOGGER: "If,when you get there, there turns out not to be any there there, well how in fact do you know you are THERE?"

That's easy - cos THERE always becomes HERE when you get there. If 'there' isn't 'here' yet, then obviously you aren't there yet either.

So there!

You see, as Bruce Lee put it - "It's like a finger pointing at the moon.. DON'T concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory.."

Mountains come out of the sky and stand there.

(the worst line ever written by my favorite band!)
