I Applied for a Job with the Obama Administration. by tucsonmike on 21 December 2008 11:41pm

I have completely lost my mind and put my hat in the ring for a Presidential Appointment.

I do not expect to get one. It was the fact I could even apply! As corny as it sounds, if called, I will serve. I am doing it for my country, not for me.

If you go on Change.gov, you can actually apply for a job. It may be a small board appointment. If I received such a thing I would retire.

I think they could do worse than find an appointment for you Mike. At least you're an upfront 'special person' unlike the incumbent president, or all smoke and mirrors like the charlatan president elect.

I sent my resume to Bill Clinton. Got the nicest rejection letter.

Mike, just sit down, have a nice cup of chamomile tea and read a nice, long book. You'll feel better soon!

Well, if Oprah can work for him, anybody can. I'm so sick of her goody 2-shoes stories.

Why thank you, Johnny! It is true, Karen, only in America. Hey, you don't know until you reach out.
I may still have that cup of tea and relax.
Yes, if Oprah can do it...I really do want to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

If you don't get anything, Mike; write again and tell them what YOU could do for them that's your USP.

Good luck!!!

What sort of a position are you looking for, tucsonmike? Do you have any special skills? (Tell them you voted Democrat)

I have a variety of skills, failure etc. (I try and learn well from failures LOL)!

I am a train fan and passenger, so I offered to help with the Amtrak board. I was a librarian, so I offered to help with that for the future of education, I now work in a skilled labor job, so I have some insight into keeping skilled jobs here and what is needed.

I am not that how powered. It is more experience in my case than genius.
