If it a. has antidepressant properties and b. depression is linked to heart disease then c. how good for you is it? As if it being a legume (protein)and Brown (neutral color, so no calories) and can cound as a fruit and a veg since it comes from a plant, what's the problem? :)

Good! I like dark chocolate. It's not as sweet as milk, and is nice when you want a bit of a change.

Of course Dark Chocolate is good for you. The Aztecs thought chocolate mixed with chilies was food for the Gods, and by golly, they were right! Right about the chocolate, dead wrong about Cortes.

I've read that only dark chocolate that retains the substance (flavonoids or something like that) that make it taste sour is good for you--but many manufacturers take that out because people don't like it. So most dark chocolate is no better for your heart than any other chocolate. But it is lower in sugar and fat.

I was under the impression it was the cocoa content of chocolate - the 70% stuff I like, for instance, and perhaps the higher the better- which benefitted the heart. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

That's what I heard that, too, Geordie. Don't know if it's true though. Not that I care - it's yummy!
