The National Geographic Society is selling about 500,000 of its originals from their archive of roughly 11,000,000. A show of some of the prints is scheduled at the Steven Kasher Gallery in Chelsea (NYC).

Oh, eating my heart out. Even if I found myself living on the dole, I'd find a way to pay for good coffee and National Geographic Magazine.

Throughout my childhood and even well into my adult life, we subscribed to that magazine. We kept every copy too. We finally had to have a garage sale. They became a fire hazard! lol. Anyway, I still have a few which for some reason I don't even remember anymore, I kept. It's been a long time ago since I read them, and I'm not even sure where I stored them.

That's a shame Patty, I would imagine that a collection like that in good condition would be worth a pretty penny these days.

My dad has a lot in mint condition dating back to when l was a kid. I was allowed to look at them very occasionally.

Oh, we have a few from back in the 1920's I do believe. I probably held on to those. I think I should look around for them.
