That was terrific, though too short for my liking.

I wish it had been longer too, but what little was there was fantastic.

"What is the biggest regret of your career, Michael?"
"I wish I'd been born a man."

I laughed till my stomach hurt at that part. :-D

The questions were sometimes dull, but they made the best of it.
John : "I never fancied Michael Palin. I find him physically repellent". I was giggling so loud I was afraid I'd wake the family up:)
Totally worth the sleepless night ! It started about 5-30 am my time, I set my alarm at abt 5-00 am, and it rang as I was just nodding off.
Now it's 8:00 am and I have to get myself ready and be off to work ! Don't know how I will manage to do work today, but who cares !!!

John: "I never fancied Michael Palin. I find him physically repellent.."

I sometimes find it hard to know when Mr.Cleese is joking, and when he is being sober and serious. I am still trying to come to terms with the way he was being nice and charming about the late Graham Chapman when speaking at his memorial service, and then he went and spoilt it all by saying: "Good riddance to the freeloading bastard. I hope he fries...." ;and Cleese was the first person at a British memorial service to use the four-letter word f**k.

Surely most people--even those who like the work of Python, etc, and have a good healthy sense of humour, would consider saying grossly irreverent things like this about a dearly-departed writing partner at a public memorial service to be in a rather dubious taste--or have I got this completely wrong??

I think you've got that completely wrong, BB... Although it is one of your most fundamental rights to be offended.

John made perfectly clear that even saying .... was an hommage to Graham, apparently a master in bad taste and irrevential behaviour (at his show, John told us how Graham would spend BBC receptions crawling on the ground and biting people's ankles).

And if that's not enough for you, you can actually spot everyone laughing at John's speech...

wow, i didn't know you couldn't write the f*** word on this site!!! huge discovery! I'm going to say "banana" instead, then: "John made perfectly clear that even saying banana was an hommage to Graham". :)

Graham would have been pleased, Big B. The supercilious nonsense at most memorials would have repelled him. JC got it right.

Kisch, thanks so much for posting the link. I watched it and felt teary-eyed at the end; not sure why, perhaps watching these legends walk off stage and reflecting on the amazing contributions they've made to the world of comedy.
