Happy Mothers Day.... by Spursfan on 14 March 2010 3:36pm

....to all Moms on Palins!

At the risk of being told I'm writing drivel (as per one of my other posts) I had 4 cards today. One from our daughter and family; one from our son and his wife; one from our grandson (which said to Nanna); and.....one from Tosun, the cats, parrot and cockatiel! Bless!

Our son also bought me a box of Thornton's 'Moments'. Yummy! (and of course he had cooked us a meal on Friday).

Actually, did you know you can now get Mothers Day cards to 'Mum-to-be' and 'Happy Mother's Day from The Bump'? !!

:)

I saw those Mum-to-be cards yesterday when I got my mum a card. A bit tacky if you ask me. (I hate that holidays are commercialised nowadays.)

Anyway, my mum loved the card that I got for her (even though it was pink but she said she likes pink :/) But I think she preferred her actual present. I gave her Slumdog Millionaire on DVD. I was a bit worried that she wouldn't like it because she asked for Time Traveller's Wife but I couldn't find it. She wants to watch it with me but I'm not sure I want to see it.

My girls bought Margaret some choccies and a cd.
I use the plural loosely. The card was signed from both but Chas was doing her own thing as usual and the pressies were from The Rascal.( that's my baby) I called her a wee rascal the second that she was handed to me at her birth.
It's dawned on me that I only use their proper names if I'm being serious ( or angry ).
Marianne is 'rasc', Christina is Chas and Margaret's name keeps evolving. She has been Megan, Meg, Minkymonkey, Minky and now 'love ya Minx'.
Why don't they have a name for me apart from old b ? :)

I had expected cards and phone calls from my daughters as Rachel is otherwise engaged and Jo often works at the week-ends. Rachel sent the most beautiful card. Jo arrived early, in a great mood and spent the day waiting on me hand and foot. One of the best Mothers Days I've had.

Good wishes to all you mothers.

Go Moms!!
One year, I was really depressed and missing my mom a lot. I rented "Serial Mom." Made me feel a lot better.
There's just something about Sam Waterston...:)
