Irritating ads by perfectbitch on 30 January 2011 1:20pm

I am appalled by the ad for Detol hands free soap dispenser. Even if germs do find their way onto the plunger of normal dispensers, once you've got the soap on your hands and washed, the germs will be killed anyway.

I think they play on the publics fears just to sell this new dispenser. A crime in these times of recession and what resources does it requiire to produce the darn thing?

I realise that these are better to use in public conveniences but just uneccessary in the home.

Moan over.

I get fed up with all the bloody compensation/accident ads. Especially that one with (I think) Joe Pascal! Really annoying! And in washing powder adverts, you can see the only reason the clothes are so clean is because they are brand new and possibly good quality. Do they honestly think we're fooled? I'm not. Sainsbury's own washing tablets work fine, thank you! I hate the way they try to insult our intelligence.

I really hate the commercials which feature someone who is obviously some sort of sports person ( coz they'll be holding a cricket bat but advertising fish fingers or something) and they ASSUME you know who the person is. They don't say who it is, the assumption being that everyone in Australia is sports mad and knows every little nobody who can fling a cricket ball. I rarely know who they are. If Michael Palin advertised fish fingers on telly here that'd be alright ;)

Yeah, a bit like Gary Lineker and the crisps (chips) adverts.

You know times are hard when they have to advertise fish fingers!

They don't really advertise fish fingers. ;) it's usually plasma tellies or new cars.

It could be worse I suppose, you could be advertising Depends or something.

I get irritated with the so-called 'Price Comparison' adverts.
The first few ones with Meerkats were amusing,but the latest one, where they are just shouting at each other, is irritating:
.....Compare The Meerkat!!....Compare The MARKET!!..Compare The Meerkat!!....Compare the MARKET!!..
..
--ENOUGH,you silly little meekats!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also the adverts for GO COMPARE!!..GO COMPARE!! with that ridiculous twirling moustached opera singer and his Italian momma have caused me considerable irritation.
The latest one in this series is in the form of a 1920's black-and-white silent film, with only the music as a soundtrack;
--but it's still pretty irritating.
Here's an annoying ad that plays exactly like this on television...
Where do I apply it again? I must have missed that part.
