Palin tours the U.S.A.! by Wheels on the bus on 1 August 2003 5:45pm

Okay, I lied. BUT don't you think this is a fantastic idea for a travel series? As a United States citizen, particularly considering the world situation, I would very much like to see an outsider's view of us. It wouldn't be an exotic series like the one he's currently shooting, but I bet it sure would be interesting. Think about it...See...Kind of intriguing, don't you think?

Or, you know, a virtual tour of the moon. Or Atlantis. I like Michael's shows because I always learn something. Wish he'd been my history teacher in high school. Might have actually learned something.

that would be the BEST. Good idea.
Michael, are you listening? :)

That is amazing! I had that exact same thought about him touring the US! It is fun to watch Ground Force America on BBCAmerica just to see their reactions to the stuff here. It would be so much better if it was him, and he wouldn't be distracted by making a garden, either(obviously)! He should visit the Missouri Bluffs in fall! They are really pretty! BTW...NO ONE SHOULD SAY MISSOURI LIKE "miz-ur-UH", IT IS miz-UREE!! That annoys me to no end. Now if only someone told those darn polititians that...

I have wondered for years why he hasn't done this... I would love to hear an Englishman's perspective on the current state of the American South (and not only because that's where i LIVE). COME TO THE SOUTH, MIKE!!!

YES! I've been thinking the same thing lately - glad to know I'm not the only one. :)

And of course, I'd be happy to take him on the grand tour of the great state of Delaware *ahem*

Seriously, though, I agree completely. The US is huge and has so many interesting locations. I'd love to see this actually happen.

I think he'd love spending a day touring Washington, then have dinner in Annapolis, and afterwards spending a restful evening somewhere along the Delaware shore.

In PTP I really liked his interviews & perspectives on California. It was very honest and well done. Therefore, I don't think he'd want to come here to Houston.

George, you must know this region pretty well! That's a good little plan for our main man, MP. But I'd treat him to a crab feast first, and another day an Italian dinner in Little Italy. Maybe attend a ballgame and see an ethnic festival, cruise the atlantic and do some crabbing and oyster tonging. A day on the warer----he'd LOVE that! The Chesapeake is great . Maybe stop at Smith Island.

Also, Baltimore has the oldest train statin in the nation and lots of hisotry-Abe Lincoln, etc. We have a wonderful train museum and also a station where the Union civil war soldiers stopped and transferred to another station a few blocks away. it was then that the first person killed took place. Knowig hi love of trains and the water, baltimore is the perfect destination for him!!!!! Besides, my dad built a gorgeous train garden which he might enjoy seeing too. Quite detailed!!!!
