IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!
I stared getting quite excited on opening my eyes that morning, got out of bed, left hand side as usual, found my slippers...
Might skip some details here...
We got to the Regent Theatre and were met by HUGE Freddie billboards, too big to put in my handbag, but what can you do...I then proceeded to hit the merchandising stand fairly heavily...Programme,T shirt, scarf, beanie, badge, coffee cup, stubbie holder AND WWRY Rock! Which was broken but isnt it always? So Petes gonna work an extra weekend to keep me happy..dear boy.
The show was just fantastic, the live band was the highlight, costumes, lighting, all top notch..we stamped, cheered, clapped and yelled..and I aint got no voice left today...
The cast were excellent but the womens voices were far better than the men..maybe beginning of season nerves..I'm going again to compare! Every word rang of Ben Elton's sense of humour, the whole thing was tongue in cheek and went down a treat with the audience...for the beginning of the run we were most impressed.
We got a few stares cos we were the ONLY ppl decked out head to foot in Queen t shirts, badges, hats etc...I was sooooo proud of my kids! They knew every word, thanks to us having the London Cast album..with revised words...I feel that they have been suitably brainwashed and that my work is done! My husband, however, was more subduded, and will require further training.
So there ya go....part one of the boring details. I shall add and add to this as more spring to mind!
Ta Tone, for starting this thread...I would never have bothered but since YOU have....i shall crap on for weeks!!!
:)Kaz
