Michael & Health Anxiety by tcoscanyan on 25 February 2004 2:05am

Just wanted to say that among the number of ways that the reading of Michael's travels has been inspirational to me, one has certainly been a bit of a decrease in anxiety. When I read about Helen's illness and recovery, and how M. dealt with it, I was almost moved to tears. I realized that I was not alone in feeling health concerns - and that there can be happy endings to health troubles.

It's also a wonder to see M. traveling everywhere and handling difficult situations with dignity - but also being able to laugh at himself. I'm very thankful to have a good role model for part of my life!

Best to all-

T.

Hear hear - Michael's one of those people who are the perfect husbands - loving, caring, handsome, rich, and already married. =D

And too old. For me, anyway. =D

S'pose that didn't stop Ana Nicole Smith.

I'm going to shut up now. =D

T--- I absolutely agree and feel the same way! Well said.
I am a self professed "Big Chicken" and MP and his travels have inspired me to be braver and less anxious as well.
Bless your Khaki heart, Michael. :)

When you say "increasingly sleezy world" I do wonder whether really it's just the awareness that builds with time (arh and awareness's dear friend cynicism sometimes gets in the boat with it and then oooh gosh - circles m'graw!) of this sleezyosity for it's been about in all ages. That's just the 'umanbean. Hurrah though for niceness.

Thanks to all for your wonderful comments, which have made me feel even happier. As I read through these and many posts, I think we are very blessed to have a community of people who are intelligent, funny, and obviously caring.

For those of you who may also struggle with some occasional (or frequent) health anxiety, do visit http://www.healthanxiety.com, where you will find wonderful forums and supportive responses.

Now pardon me while I curl up with Full Circle and read again about M's experience in Kaikoura....

Best to all-

T.
