I dont know how many children he has and am not going to ask as Michael's private life is not a topic for discussion anywhere on this board

sorry rj but your question is not appropriate to ask

He's got two sons and a daughter, all adults. That bit's not private, I've read it several times over the years.

In '80 days' when he set off from Victoria station I think there were some children waving him off then. Were they his ?
In the first 'Great Railway Journeys' prog (1981) he is seen leaving his house and saying goodbye to Helen & the kids but it is shot from a distance.

I'm sure Michael and his (grown-up)children have a wonderful relationship.
Wouldn't you if your dad was Michael Palin!
I wonder if he'd adopt me ?!?!

Do you know how many hours in the day I dedicate to those thoughts? lol, only I'd prefer him to be my grandfather, he's a bit old to be my dad. =D

In "Pole to Pole", he makes references to son taking his college entrance exams, as we call them, and that was... how many years ago? That was the trip where he flew home from Australia to be with his wife after surgery and then return. He seems to be a good family man.
