And now I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like... by Palinite14 on 14 June 2004 7:18pm

Write a short story containing all the characters below.
Making sense is unneccessary.

A Dog
The captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team
either Cher or Dame Judi Dench
a Physics Teacher
P.G. Wodehouse
Phoebe from 'Friends'
Sir Andrew Aguecheek
the entire cast of the Goon Show
a Blue Peter presenter
a hive of Wasps
any character played by David Jason
Dennis the Menace
The President of the United States of America
A Shrubbery
A member of the Palin's Travels online community
the leader of the Knights Who Say 'Ni'
a Shoe

You can include hundreds of creme eggs and any other confectionery you wish.

The Blue Peter studio had long been deserted by all but a solitary Blue Peter Presenter, who, although it was past midnight, was still waiting fretfully for the arrival of Dennis the Menace. Unbeknownst to her, his Physics teacher had detained him indefinitely after he annihilated the science wing.

The Presenter stalked off to the Green Room in the hope that some celebrity of note would be available for filming. With a shock she found that the occupants were Del Boy, a director, several cameramen and some script supervisors, filming the latest episode of 'Only Fools and Horses' on a very small budget.

Just as she was about to exclaim in surprise, the door burst open and in strode none other than Dame Judi Dench, who promptly began to whack assorted members of the crew with a Shoe.
'Leave off, Rodney,' Del shouted, as Dame Judi was at the time moonlighting as emergency replacement for Nicholas Lyndhurst (who had been held up on the M1 by a pile-up involving the Entire Cast of the Goon Show).

'No, I won't,' retorted Dame Judi. 'We must get out of here, the Knights of Ni will be along in a minute. Come on!'

And with that, the TV crew charged out of the Green Room and through the catacombs of Television Centre. But too late- as they passed the Director General's office, a chorus of evil cries was heard.

'Ni!Ni!Ni!Ni!Ni!Ni!Ni!Ni!'

and this from a single dissenter-

'No!'

By an incredible stroke of luck, they managed to hail Phoebe's cab, which whisked them away to the safety of P.G. Wodehouse's former residence. Unfortunately, the President of the United States was waiting for them in the Shrubbery. With a frenzied cry of, 'I'll set the dog on you!' he proceeded to set the wasps on them (the dog being involved in an emergency Quidditch match against Ravenclaw) and the whole lot of them were forced to flee again.

(At this point Cher appeared, but as Dame Judi Dench was already part of the story she was made to get back into the cupboard.)

Just as they thought all was lost-

' By Sir Andrew Aguecheek, I will save you!' cried Helen of the Palin's Travels Online Community, wearing wingtip shoes and brandishing a Creme Egg. And so, the Empire was defended!
