The Chatter Box : Blathering On

Note from Michael by Webmaster on 8 October 2004 7:18pm
Hello everyone,

Michael has asked that we post this message with regard to book signings and photography. Please have a quick read...

I have decided not to do posed photographs or flash photography.
Photography sadly must come second to the main reason for the signings,
which is self-evidently to sign books. With large numbers of people
wanting books signed, the only way I have time to have a quick chat and
write a dedication is if we keep the line moving as quickly as possible
and not keep stopping to set up photographs. Similarly a barrage of
flash photographs makes a signing that much more gruelling!

I hope any of you budding photographers out there will understand and
appreciate my reasons for suggesting that photographs should be taken as
far as possible without flash, and not in a way that will interfere with
the access of people who want their books signed.

In order to give everybody a fair chance we have also made a rule that
only one non-Himalaya object can be signed.

Thank you

Michael-- you mean to say you don't like seeing flashing blue spots for hours on end? :)

Can we still bring you some donuts?

happy signing!

Re: Note from Michael by Diamond on 9 October 2004 11:17am
thanks for letting us know in advance michael - can this go on the front page on top of the list of book signings so that those who dont visit the chatterbox know the guidelines too??!! or have you already done that

fully understand and appreciate the reasons - and agree with you michael - thanks for clarifying the situation

Lyn - the one who will treasure the photos that i already have and guard them with my life!!

That sounds reasonable to me. I think it's very generous of Michael to sign even one non-Himalaya object. Can't wait for the Australian tour! :o)

Missy - are you going to get michael to sign one of your gourds???
Re: Note from Michael by Miss-M on 9 October 2004 4:12pm
Lyn, have you been eavesdropping on my MSN conversations? LOL! Kaz and I were talking about that very thing, as a matter of fact! I might just have to get my gourds out for the occasion! ;)
Re: Note from Michael by kazzzz on 9 October 2004 4:19pm
Gawd Im just plain scared now Lynnie!
Re: Note from Michael by Izot on 9 October 2004 4:22pm
It's not really the flash you're worried about, is it Michael?

Rather the whole scanning/photoshopping/possibility of being seen in the Sun in some obscure pose.... thing. Right?

Lyn - that piccy you sent me just got a whole lot more special! :D
