earthquake off sumatra by irishmanufan on 28 March 2005 10:03pm

lets hope there won't be another tsunami in the same place as the last one . at least this time the people in the countries hit by the last one will be a little more prepared and this may save lives .

They're not victims yet
Re: earthquake off sumatra by harvey123 on 29 March 2005 3:36pm
death toll rising ..it is so unfortunate especially since many families endured the effects of the previous sunami in that region..the second time in 6 months these people have had to go through this trauma..thank god there wasn't another killer wave. Apparently these waves normally happen far out in the middle of the sea and die out when they reach land and often go unheard of. unlucky for them they live on the sumatra fault and the sumatra trench is not far from them. The earths plates moving could obviously trigger another quake which they say on the BBC1 news could be alot deadlier.

I totally agree with you.

Another unfortunate, tragic event for that part of the world.

More prayers headed that way.....

It's terribly sad and unlucky. I'm thankful that so much money has already been raised to help people and that there are the resources to bring aid now. I can't imagine how people must be feeling - to have the threat of another disaster occuring must be near impossible to live with.

It's hard to imagine being in the shoes of the people in that part of the world, or, for that matter, in any place where disaster threatens mankind. My prayers go out to all those affected.

It is so sad that this has happened yet again - mother nature sometimes has a lot to answer for - my thoughts are with those affected

They were saying on the news this morning that they think that some Brits were caught up in it all.
