Good Latin? by kristinekm on 30 May 2005 12:20am

The question of the day:

What does "vir prudens non contra ventum mingit" mean?

The right answers will be rewarded with a cyber hug!

well, some of it is right, guess you should have half a cyber hug for trying. I will wait and see if someone else has the answer before I reveal the translation.

It was the minging mingit that foxed me. I reckon it's something along the lines of:-

"A wise man doesn't piss against the wind."

"Veni, vidi, vici" was Graham Chapman as Julius Caesar as a mouse.

Re: Good Latin? by purple on 31 May 2005 7:45am

"Veni Vidi vici" means "I came, I saw, I conquered" which was said by Julius Ceaser.
Yeah, I'm smart too. *dumb smile*
