The Chatter Box : Blathering On
View from China by elsienagale on 15 June 2005 12:42pm
We watched the series from Guangzhou, China. We're lucky in that we get Hong Kong TV, albeit censored when the Chinese man with the remote control decides that we shouldn't see this - he then presses the button and we get adverts or sometimes the same episode of Thomas the Tank Engine again.
We were amazed that we got so much of the series without interference! Maybe the censor didn't quite get Michael's very subtle 'digs' at the Chinese liberation of Tibet, but we did and appreciated them! We will all try and get to Tibet before 2008 and the arrival of the Autonomous Themepark Region of Tibet! Thank you Michael.

Wow - it must be so difficult for you over there - we just take no state censorship for granted here. Are you able to buy Michael's books and DVDs openly in China?
