Thailand trecking by chrirons on 22 June 2005 12:21pm

Hello all,

We, a young lady and myself, want to go to Thailand during the first couple of weeks of November.

We'd quite like to treck down to the south part, by ourselves, without guide or travel agency - but with a few books in order to communicate properly with the locals.

Does anybody have any experience in this, please?

Cheers,
Chris

Trek down to the South? That's going to be quite a journey. Or do you mean do some trekking in the South? Keep in mind that November is still the rainy season in the south (although, not all the time). So take some umbrellas. South of Bangkok, that whole peninsula is very flat for the most part. So most people get about by train or bus (i do anyway). The north and it's mountainous terrain is usually the place people head to for trekking per se.
