The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Wow - what happened to chatterbox? by perfectbitch on 18 July 2005 5:45pm
Blimey, I've not seen it so empty before!! Well, I went to see Van Morrison last Saturday and he was so very much better than I expected him to be. Friends gave mixed reviews of past performances from great to grumpy, short sets etc. However, he played mainly old numbers (Astral Weeks prominent) plus Baby Please Don't Go and he finished on Gloria complete with synchronised firework display. Best day of summer so far for me.

I'm happy to fill the void somewhat. This seems a rather tight-knit community, so I'd best introduce myself. I'm Chris from Cardiff by the Sea, the one in San Diego, Ca., not the less famous one I've a heard a bit about.

No book to plug about gassing up the East coast, just another Palin fan.

Welcome cnsmaron. I have family living in the other Cardiff. Although without California sunshine, it is a small vibrant city with a lovely castle as it's focal point. However, I'd rather the climate of your Cardiff.
This site is interesting and entertaining with some good people.

Thanks for your response, perfectbitch.

I've been to your Cardiff and enjoyed the castle. You should visit mine. We have a castle of our own. It's being built on a medieval schedule, so the owner/builder is unlikely to see his vision made manifest. It's meant to look like a sandcastle, so the visionary builder is surely making a Buddhist statement that all we do will be washed away by the tide.

Good wishes and strength to all who suffered from the Tube bombings,

Hmmm - quite a few coincidences here!

I'm from Cardiff in South Wales...and I was also at the Van Morrison Concert at Audley End on Saturday.

Van was on very good form on the night doing what I haven't seen him doing for a long time, i.e. really enjoying himself performing pretty much a "greatest hits" set.

I was there as a guest of the support artist, Edwina Hayes - just out of interest, what did you make of her?? {If you were close enough to the front for her set and saw someone on the side of the stage taking a few photos - that was me!}.

Bye for now,

PS - Fireworks were lovely, weren't they!

Diamond, let us know please if the Quo concert was good. I have only seen them once when they appeared at the Glasgow SECC about 6 or 7 years ago when thy were doing four (I think) gigs all in the one day. They were great and played a few of their famous numbers.
