In Poland, I loved Krakow. Great old city. The Central Square is fun and there are some great places to eat and hear music. I got to go to a Chopin concert while there. Wavel Castle is a must.

I meant to throw in my two cents about Slovkia. Bratislava has some good stuff to see. It is only an hour train ride to Vienna. I hope it is still there, but there was a great place called the KGB Pub. It had all sorts of Communist regalia. You also see little statutes around like a man coming out of a manhole. They are satircal from the days of Communist spying. There is a statue of Napoleon and a man knows as Der Schoner Deutsche. Another restaurant was good grief, the Dubliner Pub LOL!

In Poland, I definitely preferred Krakow to Warsaw. Warsaw is big, open and could be depressing. The Stalin gift, the Palace of Art and Culture dominates the center of town. Warsaw residents have a joke.
Where is the best view in Warsaw?
From the Palace of Art and Culture so you don't have to see it!
