The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Clinton Global Initiative by tucsonmike on 24 September 2005 4:44pm

A friend of mine is a facilitator for this now. I will be seeing Rita when I am in New York. I am trying to get her to join this site. (She is a Python fan).

Rita is brilliant, beautiful (no I am not dating her, I wish)... I met her three years ago on a New Jersey train platform. It would make a great romance, except...
The following are excerpts from her email.

I just spent the last 2.5 days engaged in one of the most exciting events imaginable. I served as a facilitator for the Clinton Global Initiative working with many political, business (for profit and non-profit), and religious leaders from around the world. These leaders came together with the intent of connecting to develop and implement solutions aimed at solving some of the most difficult problems in the world, i.e., climate change, religion - conflict and resolution, governance enterprise and investing (my area of focus), and, the escape from poverty.

While I am prohibited from relating the details of this experience, I can say it was amazing and inspiring. I encourage you to visit the Clinton Global Initiative web-site (www.clintonglobalinitiative.com) for more information and the formal report (will be published within the next week or so). All in all, this first ever conference yielded just over 190 commitments to effect change; the value of the commitments are assessed at approximately $1.25B.

There are many smart, dedicated and thinking people committed to make a significant and positive difference in the world. I ask you to renew your commitment to effect change whether on a large or small scale. Do not settle for the status quo or allow mediocrity to reign. The need is great! And, it takes so little to make a difference. Please continue to do what you can, whenever you can, while you can.

Better said than I could.

Try as you might. The world will continue to be controlled by "Fat Cats" who scratch each others backs.
Do you remember the "Golden Rule" ?
It goes something like this. Those who have the gold...............
