Never be rude to the Amazon by Godfather on 1 October 2005 1:12pm

Going on the from discussion the other day about Michael going on an "Amazon" trip. Well, i heard Michael on the Radio yesterday in Britain (dont know what station it was) saying that he didn't feel like going on another "setting" trip such as "Himalaya" or the "Amazon" but would now be more interested in a trip to do with the 'people' of a particular place.

well bless his heart! That's a great idea...
so GF--what would you suggest?

I suggest, "Behind every sucessfull man, is a bunch of nutters" as the next series. Michael meets each one of us weirdos on Palinstravels face to face and tries desperately to make some kind of coherent series out of the hours and hours of footage he obtains from our ramblings on in interviews. In the end i believe we'd have a cross between Life of Brian, The Holy Grail, and Jabberwocky. Way too expensive Directors Edition DVD comes months later. First thing i'd do, is grab Michael by the wrists, turn his hands upward and say - "You got city hands, Mr Palin. Been countin' money are yer life"

perfect! That sounds brilliant.

Don't forget in the special features in the Very Expensive Director's Cut, we are to talk about what a genius the director is, and how wonderful it was to work with everyone. we can use a shaky steady cam for dramatic effect...

let's have a drink then go cut that shark open....

Then, perhaps we can all dine on a piece of halibut that is good enough for Jehovah. But no lapsang souchong!!! NO no no charcoal brick laxative tea!

Here is my two cents worth.
I have always loved to people watch. Sometimes I will see an individual and think to myself, I wonder what that person is going to do today.
It would be interesting to pick individuals off the street and follow there lives for 24 hours at a time. Probably boring mostly but, could be quite interesting.

Stalking you mean? We'd get arrested. Or we could emulate Michael as the Ex-Leper and hop around the streets of london bothering strangers by asking - "Spare a Pound for an old ex-leper...God bless you sir" and could tell them our life story. They'd pay generously (if only to get rid of us).

You mean the Weird world of Pailinites? Or should he ask Louis Theroux to do this one for him instead?

You want a real Amazon adventure. Read about the travels of Francisco de Orellana. It can never be matched.
