[whiny geek voice] No, tuscon. that's Star WARS, not Star TREK. PLEASE do NOT try to compare our most beloved Star Trek to that other thing. ;^D

LOL! I got a good laugh... True, the two cannot be compared.

Goodbye Scotty. Star Trek and the pythons made life bearable. Thank - you.

Why?

Re: Beam me up Scotty - an update by perfectbitch on 18 October 2005 12:16am

If your question is to me kazzzz - at the time these programmes were first broadcast on UK tv I was still living at home with a crazy alcoholic mother and my 2 younger sisters. Trek was sheer escapism and the Pythons kept me sane. Linz

No Linz it wasn't directed at you..I was just wondering why so many people would want their ashes blasted into space..Scotty I can understand yeah but to me it just seems weird. Each to their own I guess :)

Kazzzz - having had to deal with what to do with my husbands ashes last year, I have to say that it is very difficult to legally do something approprate to the deceased. There are so many laws about this matter - eg. scattering them from one of the London Bridges was out of the question. Scattering them in space is incredibly expensive as is the whole damned "business" of death. In the end, we scattered his ashes in the field where he played rough cricket in the summer. I think he would have been pleased with that.
