Commonwealth Games & The Queen's Baton Relay by Miss-M on 14 March 2006 5:05am

I've been told that the baton is going to pass along Bourke Street, Melbourne at 6:04pm this evening. Is everybody as stoked as I am?? I'm just worried about the crowds and the unreliable train timetables. It's bad enough when the city isn't hosting the Commonwealth Games! I am sooo sick of hearing that my train has been delayed/cancelled/hijacked by Robert Shaw and a cold, monotonous voice announces that "Connex apologises for any inconvenience caused." The sincerity overwhelms me!

huh thats nothin'.
i once spent ages trying to get from Gidea Park to Chingford (my house). first off i missed a bus, secondly there was a points failor at Seven Kings so had to get off and get a bus to Romford then a bus to Ilford and finaly Chingford.

i arrived home at 20:15 to an empty, cold and foodless house.
i had left at 17:00

LOL Arty!

The Queen's Baton didn't come to my town. It didn't even come within 400km of my town. Yet it went along Whitehaven Beach. How many people saw it out there???

It's now the 15th of March - did you see the Baton, Missy?

No, I didn't hang around long enough to see it pass up Bourke Street last night. That's alright though coz I saw it on the telly! ;)

The Queen is going to run with a baton? She's 80 years old!! Seems a little cruel and unusual.

The Queen has a baton? Is it hers? Did she buy it? Was it a gift? Wot colour is it? Does it have a flag on it or jewels? Does she play "fetch" with it with her corgis when it's not being used for terribly important stuff? Is it a NICE baton? Does anyone have a picture link? Am I very annoying?
