The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Palin Diaries '69 - '79/Eastern Europe by sginis on 18 October 2006 5:00pm
I have just purchased the book and am just finishing 1970. What an exciting time in the history of present day comedy. I grew up on SNL and found the re-runs of Monty Python after the MP movies (Meaning of Life / Life of Brian etc.) and became facinated by the creative process (mostly the writing) that goes into 'screaming from the fringe'.

Also, I am looking forward to the next series...hopefully, I will meet Mr. Palin again; the last time we met was in Auckland, NZ after the Himilaya series - I am from Toronto, Canada. After my stay in NZ (7 month sabbatical)my wife and I travelled in Europe. The closest we got to Eastern Europe was Prague - an adult 'Disney' for British men on a wedding stag. I was not impressed (although the city is beautiful & the beer is cheap!) It will be interesting to see Mr.Palin's take on Eastern Europe.

Greetings from someone else who grew up with the same comedic geniuses.
