Question for the Brits by Robron on 19 October 2006 2:44pm

Can anyone tell me the definitions of "smellies" and "moog's game"? Is the former perfume? I recently heard references to both on Coronation Street. Thanks.

Smellies are anything in the bubble bath, talc, perfume, range - you get the idea.

Moog's game? Oh I think you mean Mug's game. A mug is an idiot, so a mug's game is something an idiot would try to do, i.e. impossible or something that is badly paid.

I think so, anyway....;-)

Both sound right, based on the Corrie scenes seen. Thanks, Anne.
