Internship in London by Stern on 7 December 2006 1:41pm

Hi everybody!
I know I haven't been here for some time but I am totally busy studying business administration in Germany. That is also why I need your help now.

I need to find a company in London where I can do an internship for three months, from July to September 2007.

If anyone could please help me!!

Thank you so much in advance!!

I had a friend from my town go to London looking for an internship and cme home 2 weeks later in dismay. nobody could help her. Some of her friends got jobs though, but not as interns, so they stayed. They were able to pay thier bills, my friend wasn't. You are in a different field of study, so I hope you have better luck, Stern.

well, thank you so much anyway! I really appreciate it!
I already asked my professor but he also says it's difficult.
I would have a place to stay at a friend's house but he can't help me finding an internship.

Hi there Silke.

I am studying politics, so I have had to search for internships in the past as well. I have had the advantage of there being a lot of internet information available. If you know what you want to do then try looking on websites of the sorts of companies you want to work for. Trying to make contacts within these organisations is by far and away the best way to get an internship, but that is far from easy. It is time consuming, and you have to get to know the right people. My advice to look into recruitment agencies in London who offer internship services, whilst sending speculative CV's off to the sorts of companies who you would like to work for. Beware though. Competition is fierce, and last year, despite applying for over 40 political internships, I still got nowhere. Nothing is guaranteed, but if you try your best you might be surprised at what comes up. Very good luck to you!
