"Philip, would you PLEASE answer the bloody phone?"

If you ring the palace, there's a recording giving you something like 30 seconds to hang up if it's a prank call, and they tell you they've logged and traced the call. I know this coz I've done it!

ginnyP: I was wondering why you asked your question:do you know something we should be concerned about?

My guess is,speaking generally,if you had knowledge of wrongdoing(backhanders, etc.) concerning a V.I.P. in the Establishment,or on the part of a serving Government Minister, and you rang someone in authority, the next thing is you would have the police breaking down YOUR door to arrest YOU!!!

On reflection,it would be much better to call (anonymously in the first instance)someone at either THE SUN,THE NEWS OF THE WORLD,or the DAILY MAIL;--or if you wanted to make a bob or two,ginnnp,--(and your information was reliable)--just call P.R. guru,Max Clifford, collect.Would you like his Telephone Number??

Thanks for your advice. I'll get back to you when I can. All I can say is it regards a newly appointed M.P. and their business interests.

You could try the Parliamentary Ombudsman, Ginny (Google it).

It'll be quite difficult, whoever you go to. You'd need all sorts of evidence.

Well no, this phone number was doing the rounds, and I was curious so I just rang it!
I heard the recorded message and hung up, I got a bit of a fright to be honest!

"Phill-eep. One has just had some dreadful oik from the colonies asking one if one has any 'cream eggs'. One feels as if one needs to abdicate, it's just too much for one."
