I wasn't criticising (that looks wrong?!!) Loretto honestly, just saying that if we aren't putting our names on - but the emails DO, it kinda ruins the whole thing!!

Don't know what to suggest, other than putting PT and the title? (For Palins Travel)

Anne, I edited the last post, re-read so that you can post your own story and control whether or not you want to include your name or leave it out. I know you weren't criticising!! Lot's of wrinkles when we're starting up a blog, but we'll manage to get things sorted out.

Anne, I'm not upset!!! Honestly! See how the artistic temprament can be so fickle!!! LOL

I probably won't take part but I hope I can get to read the stories. I have little imagination to allow me to write anything creative and I'm more insecure than most of you would think. I'd be scared to appear stupid.

Loretto, I love your organising skills and I'm amazed how you find time for all the things you do.

If it wouldn't be regarded as cheating, maybe the teacher side of you could give me an opening sentence and I could try to do something with that.

Anne ! We all know your name and everything there is to know about you. Why fret about your anonymity ? The times that you've had dreams with me in them, was actually me invading your brain and all it's contents. I've got the lot written down on half a page of A4. :)

John, the hard part is learning all of it. The setting up of the blog etc and the google email took ten minutes tops. This stuff is like playing the piano, the more you do it, the better you get.

I can't play the piano very well by the way :-)

Here's your sentence starter.

"The sun had risen to its highest point in the sky above Glasgow, it would be dark in less than four hours."

Thanks Loretto. I suppose you are correct about computer stuff becoming easy with practice. Even when my girls lived here they were too impatient to show me anything. Everything was at a hundred mph and I was no wiser at the end !

Loretto, where do I email it?

Re: Short story competition by Loretto on 15 July 2012 7:54pm

@John Wheelrim, here are your choices:
1. Log onto the blog using the following information

The username for the blog is:
allofustogetherrighthere

The password is:
Aroundtheworld
Follow the directions in the earlier post about how to post on a blog.

2. email your story to Mister.Gumby1953@gmail.com
(My tribute to Michael!)

I am between water polo practice and dinner out so my phone will be limited in accessing that new blog up there. I will post your story on the blog at about 8:30 pm US time ......can't wait to read it.

John,, the other lad, a few more ideas to go with that starter sentence, the early dark is not because of nature.

I wanted to add that I can do all of the things that I do because..........I can't cook!!!' I can bake banana chocolate bread though!!

:-)

1,500+ words to my story so far.
