I liked Margaret Thatcher. She made some very difficult good decisions or in JTM's parlance she had balls.

Totally disagree with you Ken. She was a bully leader, the Prevention of Terrorism Act resulted in innocent people being put in prison after being held for 7 days without charge and having confessions beaten out of them. She made some difficult decisions, but she wasn't a good leader at all. She caused division, the UK's child poverty rate fell to the lowest in Europe under her reign and then there is the trade unions. She called Nelson Mandela a terrorist.

So there ya have it. I didn't like the woman at all. But she had a family, they mourn her, and that's another part of it.

I suppose that's why her cabinet eventually kicked her out Loretto. I wasn't aware of some of the things you say about her. My wife would have called her a smarmy git - she thinks that of all Conservatives! She was probably a bully leader to deal with the unions at the time.

I think that was the way of politics back then. Reagan was a sly fox, Margaret Thatcher was in your face loud, and political correctness hadn't been invented yet.

I watch Barack Obama, I voted for him both times, and I often wonder what he is really thinking when he gives those fantastically political correct speeches.
