And another welcome to Katie (already got the lads). Well, I happen to live by the largest mall in the states WITH a roller coaster. I live painfully close to Mall of America (literally up the street from me). It's a love/hate relationship. The people there drive me nuts, but 'Oh-the shopping!'
Continue to have fun here!

Welcome Tim! It is always nice to welcome a male Palinite. Us women far out-number you and I do worry about that sometimes. :-)

Rich – I have read your ‘hints’ about living not far from where Michael’s birthplace . . . so, don’t worry, they were noticed and made me smile. :-) I didn’t think ‘Full Circle’ was everyone’s favourite of Michael’s travel series. I had the impression more liked ‘Around the World in 80 Days’.

So many postings since I’ve been away enjoying myself meeting Ellen, John and Michael. Hmm, that makes it sound as if we four got together and had some fun. Now that’s not a bad idea . . . got any free time coming up Michael? :-)

David welcome! Another male Palinite! Yes! I know they are around because there were a lot of them at Michael’s talk. Perhaps some are a little ashamed at calling themselves Palinites because of the loony way the female Palinites can go on sometimes . . . . all the time. :-)

Mary and David – Accountants can be very interesting, my brother Murray is an accountant and he has a very silly sense of humour. Must run in the family.

Welcome Katie! New members to the site popping up everywhere! I’m sure you will enjoy reading all the posts and writing a few or million of your own.

Katie, you're about 3 1/2 hours south of me. :O) I'm surprised at the growing number of Palinites in this region!

Don't worry about being a month late...I don't think I ever filled one of those out. LOL!

Dianne, I don't know what you mean - we female Palinites don't go on all the time, do we??? ;O)

I suppose I should introduce myself too :)
I'm 19, from Sydney and am a huuuuge Python fan - my favourites being Michael (of course!) and Graham. A friend introduced me to Python when I was about 12 and it sort of took off from there! I have such admiration for Michael and what he does in his travelling and aiming to connect with people from all cultures. I like Full Circle the best! But am yet to view the earlier ones with such new found enthusiasm.

There you go Dianne, another Full Circle champion, but as Miss Fruitcake says she hasn't seen the others. I think there are a lot of people out there in the same position or who saw Full Circle first and as such it became their favourite.
Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by MissTrixiB on 7 February 2003 5:12am
Well, how about THIS one Rich.....
I have never viewed any of the travel series on tele, only read them. AND, I might add, I started with '80 Days'. (Well, Some of that's a little lie.....I did purchase the video of Full Circle after reading all of the series, but our VCR died after only seeing 2 episodes.) My 'favorite' refers to the written version. I do agree that the first absorbed CAN become the favorite, but not in my case. I think the reason why I choose 'Full Circle' as my fav. is 'cause it's so HUGE! That, and the photos are simply breathtaking (the ones from the other books were "just" amazing). And....well....he's so....ahem.....well...HOT in that one. I just needed to put my two cents in, I'm annoying in that way ;-)
kisses while blushing furiously-

Oh- and welcome MissFruitcake. I've enjoyed conversing with you and it's great to have you here. I'm going to go stick my head in the snow now.
Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by raxpus on 7 February 2003 6:25am

I've been lurking around here since this site opened, so I suppose I should introduce myself.

My name is raxpus. I am a Palin addict.

Er, sorry.

I've been a fan of Michael's since I first saw Holy Grail when I was in seventh grade (about seven years ago now). Then I discovered Flying Circus, and more recently his travel programs. I think 80 Days is my favorite with Full Circle a close second, but I haven't read/seen Sahara yet. I'm 20 years old and a sophomore in college in the large block of ice known as upstate New York. I'm an archaeology major. ;-)

(And when I'm not at school, I live less than a half hour from the biggest mall on the east coast of the US.)

Trixi--I know about the love/hate thing. I have a huge mall to shop at within 3 miles of my house....but then I have to deal with horrific traffic and busloads of tourists. And it's really not that big of a deal.

Mary--Ahh, a near Palinite. Glad to hear. :)

It is SO GREAT that I FINALLY found some people to talk to about MP. I have been waiting 8 years for this. You bet your bippy I'll be here posting a lot. I might not catch all the posts, though. Man, they add up quickly!!

Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by Rusted on 7 February 2003 9:37am
"Full Circle" is actually one of the travels I haven't been able to view yet - mainly because it's so big that neither I nor the library seem to be able to spend the money on it. ;O)

But the good thing is that they do have all the books - well, the major ones. I'm browsing through the FC and Hemingway Adventure books now.

Hey, speaking of malls...what city do you live in in Minnesota, Trixi, if you don't mind me asking? Because I'm going to be in Minneapolis this weekend...

And on that note, don't expect me to be around much this weekend, as I'll be gone for most of it. I should have time to cehck in quickly tomorrow. I'll probably catch up with you guys Monday (or maybe Sunday). :O)

Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by MissTrixiB on 7 February 2003 10:36am
Hey there, Rusted!
I LIVE in Minneapolis! WOW! Send me an e-mail at (is this too dangerous?) [email protected]
I have plans for Friday and Saturday night, but if you're 'of age', I can meet you at First Ave (where 'Purple Rain' was filmed....and I used to work) on Friday night. Otherwise, we can hook up at a coffee shop for Saturday (there's a great new breakfast place in downtown that opened up called 'Hells Kitchen'). Send me an e-mail.
And thanks for adding to the intro section raxpus. And 'cheers; MissWiggum! MOA tends to attract a very strange crowd. Those 'Mall Rat's' (which was also filmed here) can be pretty scary.
