I'll bring all of Atkins friendly food,Dianne (ooh...I think SPAM is on the Atkins plan! I better re-think that one). I'll take care of the water and the Guinness too (one of the few vices I've hung onto).
Welcome Megan! If you go back to the beginning, you'll see where we're all from. 184 posts is far too many to trudge through in one sitting, so I'll tell you that I'm from Minneapolis, MN - USA (brrrrr).
See you all in 1 1/2 hours! I've gotta go make myself look pretty now! (I just couldn't do this in my pajamas....or COULD I?!? How intimate, chatting with Mr. Palin in my PJ's. Hmmmmmm).
kisses(I love you all, but I won't be spreading 'kisses' during the chat)-

Awww....Thanks Bruce. Didn't make it to the chat, but NEXT time (maybe).

Rusted....I'm looking into the cost of train tickets. THere is a station here and one in Milwaukee. You're pretty close to Milwaukee, aren't you? My husband and I are looking at about $100 a piece, but we may just make a few days of it and call it our vacation (since we can't go to London this Spring after all). When we get the dates, I'll look into more specifics. I know you have classes and such to deal with (same with our little Minneapolis friend). Let me know if you would want to makae more than a day of it (think it's only an hour or so from Milwaukee, but we're looking at about 6 from my destination to yours). Driving might be the best option, but we just have a tiny little Saturn. Times a tickin', so we should know dates soon enough.

(I hate to ask this, but is this thread 'dead in the water' now because of the new intro one? Just wanted to know)

Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by Rusted on 24 February 2003 5:57pm

Trixi, Milwaukee is about an hour and a half away. I may or may not be able to get a ride there somehow, we'd have to see how nice my sister's feeling (drat my old piece o' crap car!!).

$100 is a little higher up than I was planning on spending, but I suppose I could manage - if it's the only way to get to see Michael, it's worth it! :O)

As far as whether or not I could do it with classes, it depends on a) exactly when it is and b) exactly how many days I'd have to take off. I wouldn't want it to be near finals and I can't miss more than a couple days of a few of my classes. I also have a play early April that I *cannot* miss. Ye gods...hope the booksigning isn't on one of those days!!!

So I'll guess we'll have to wait until we find out the date. :O\

Hey Rusted!

When we get closer to the dates, we'll try to work something out. I don't think we can expense that $100 a piece oursleves (the more I think of it). We could pick you up on the way, but would have to stay a bit to make up for the drive (it'll prob. be 10 hrs. each way with the stop in Oshgosh). Let's ge the dates and then figure it out from there. I would hate for you to have to miss out on meeting Palin. I would even consider driving to Milwaukee and taking the train from there! Could you bus it to Milwaukee?
First things first....dates. We'll get you there somehow!
(can only make a couple of posts tonight....gotta sick hubby and my self-review for work to write up. God I hate those things. Do you play the 'humble card' or the 'self promoting card'. I never know and work has been [email protected]*$ lately.....arghhh!)
Enough of that!

Thanks Trixi, sounds good...I'll go whatever way you can get you and me there, and help out with expenses as well!

Now, as you said...we'll just have to wait until the dates are announced before anything else can happen!

Wow!! There are so many of these to trawl through! Might print them out later for future reference!

Ok - here goes!

1)Kath (alias sleepydumpling)

2)Always liked Python and Michael was my favourite, closely followed by Eric. But it was seeing "Around the World in 80 Days" that made me a Palinite.

3) 30 - ick!!

4)I wish I did but I am a wuss!

5)Just a wee holiday on the Gold Coast with friends.

6)Brisbane,Australia - gorgeous city in a gorgeous state in a gorgeous country! Sticky and hot in summer, but sparklingly beautiful in winter. Lovely people who pretty much fall into a six degrees of separation whomever you talk to. Like a giant country town really.

7) Full Circle - but I love them all to bits.

If anyone would like an e-pal with view to a penpal, email me at [email protected] Please put "Palin" in the subject somewhere so I know not to delete you! I get a lot of junk!

Cheers
Kath

Welcome sleepydumpling! Can't wait to see the origin of that one!
I think I saw that you stumbled onto the thread about creating a 'journal'. We'll see if we can get that going. I'm sure there's a number of people here that would be interested in being an e-pal. Sad to say, I was a terrible pen-pal back in the day. I'd probably be an even worse e-pal. My sister and I spent weeks trying to reach eachother via e-mail this past holiday season. And she only lives 5 miles away! My husband steals my computer for work and I can go 'missing' for weeks at a time. When I get my hands back on it, I spend most of my on-line time here. It's a very fun and friendly site. And so globally diverse. Such a joy to be here, and such a joy to welcome newcomers.
Have loads of fun!
