Hi mad Palinites!!

As you may well guess, I am a new addition to the Palinites gang and have yet the chance to introduce myself properly.
My dad introduced me to 'Monty Python' when I was six.Since then I have been an avid fan of all things Pythonesque- Including Michael Palin (who is unbelievably sexy as you all know!!), even though when I started watching It I thought Eric Idle was the cute one!
But As soon as the 'Lumberjack Song appeared on our Tv screens I was hooked. From then, I have watched everything to do with Michael and have everything he has ever done. (Im not sure if that is a little obsessive!) And i've been told that this is the best place to talk to other mad people who are just as and/or more insane then I am!

halloo! i've been reading palinstravels since bravo started showing "sahara" last spring, but only now (finally) am posting...looks like a fun bunch of folks here!

i live in chicago. i've traveled only a little though i hope to do more; in the meanwhile i love "armchair traveling" and have begun collecting travel narratives as i build my library.

so of course AFTER i've already posted, i manage to stumble upon the "vitals" section and realise there's a bit more i should have said. :( sorry, webbie! and WOW but that was quick of you to get me up there already, thanks! don't go back in purely on my account, but whenever you next are "in" that file, please update me: my real name is darci, and i'm 34. :)

Re: MORE introductions (for everyone) by peripatetically on 4 October 2003 3:01pm
Darci, I voluntarily accepted taking care of the Vital's List but I am not Webbie! For some reason keeping the list current has become a bigger responsibility than I ever imagined. It's ok though, because I can do it whenever time allows me to update.

It began when there seemed to be a need for one when people never could remember who they were speaking to , where they lived , etc. and those same questions kept popping up. So now, with the list, you can just copy, paste and print it and keep it handy next to your computer if you like.

I hope people have found it useful.

Okay, uh.
1) My name online is just my name with a python twist. My real name is Hanne and is pronounced Hannah and is Danish and is really bad for substitute teachers. I get Hann and Hannee all the time.
2) Python? I liked Python when I was introduced at 5 and loved it when I was 10, so I guess it's been like for 5 years and love for 5.
3) Age? Dammit, I'm only fourteen and in year 10 at school. Teenagerhoooood is really bad for the health.
4) Well, my family stays in one place mostly, but two of the three children (me and my elder sister) are always travelling. We're in a choir that toured last july and we go to denmark all the time.
5) Uh...well, I'm going to Scandinavia with a choir next september and I'm going to Perth (australia) in February.
6) I was born in Perth, Australia of a Danish mother and a father who was born in Yorkshire. *which is where Mike is from*. I live in Sydney in the weird suburb, Newtown. The best one.
7) All. Well, Full Circle was the best, but I loved watching Sahara, as Africa has been my dream destination *after going to england and space*

That's me.

Getting the thread back on track by jsknows on 5 October 2003 6:42pm
I’ll help get the thread back on track.

Greetings all,

My name is Jonathan and I live south of San Francisco in California, U.S.A. with my wife Kelly and our dog Snip.

We are avid (more appropriately, addicted) world travelers having just spent a week in Santorini (Greece) and 3 1/2 in the Basque country in northern Spain. We’re off to Paris for New Year's eve this year.

I am fortunate to have lived in Kenya, Hong Kong, and the Philippines and currently hold a position that requires a significant amount of business travel and I always make time for personal exploration on these trips (Dubai in two weeks).

We have been fans of Michael's travels since Around the World in 80 Days. In 1996 we spent some time in Rajasthan and Gujarat (India) where we had an opportunity to stay at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai (Bombay) and get a reading from the very same astrologer as Michael did in Around the World. While on our India trip in 96 we created a web site for or family and friends to follow along (I was working at Apple at the time as the Product Manager for QuickTime). The site is still available at http://www.worldadventure.com/jkindia/. Select “Log” and then “The Stars” to see a short QuickTime clip of my reading from the astrologer. The quality of the movie clip reflects the technology of the day as well as a sore throat. :)

I am an amateur Hemingway scholar and collector as well and look forward to meeting others who share this interest (I had a great time with George at Shakespeare and Co. not long after Michael visited him).
