Go on Mike! A silly story would cheer me up!

Thank you Geraldine,
Perhaps he would have liked to get his mid-life crisis in before I hit mine? (the you know what ) However, after years of thankless housekeeping and watching him look up his own and his parents backsides I'm not sorry. My apologies for the remark but I stopped the antidepressants 3 days ago and I am much less miserable and possibly more assertive. HOORAY at last!

Sounds like you're moving in a good direction, Ginny. A bit of happy assertiveness is a good role model for your girls. Good luck!

OK Ginny, I am keeping my promise.

If you have ever read Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories, this is in this vein. It is called "How Mike's Midlife Crisis Came to a Screeching Halt"

Mike will be 50 in December. Nothing spectacular other than staring at women half his age and drooling over Corvettes.
One day eating out in Sweet Tomatoes, Elaine, aka Pooh had enough. I stared at a young lady, Mike got hit over the head with Time Magazine.
I have an excuse, I am going through changes.
Funny how one sided this is. You'd think after 23 years I would figure it out LOL!
When we arrived at home that night, I was looking over cars.com looking for Corvettes. She laughed! The phone rang. She answered. It was my father. She told him I was looking at Corvettes. I could hear his side splitting laughter on the other end.

The upshot of this is he called his favorite cousin in California and they had a great laugh over this. Thus the story of how Mikes' midlife crisis came to a screeching halt. Moral of story. Elaine ALWAYS wins. She also has the men to back her up. LOL!

Silly enough?:-)

You know Tusconmike that every mother or grandmother loves sport's cars as long as there are two seats in the back?I do not know about Corvettes but I could always fold up my children into the back of my car, likewise my Dad before me!
However, when parking, age gets the better of me. The car is so low I have to throw myself onto the car park and pick myself up before anyone sees me.
