No!!!!

Is it national or just in certain places, as last time we did not have the strike.

How will Johnny Depp be able to send me love letters....

I've just checked it up. Individuals will take part in 2 x 24 hour protests, at different times throughout the country over the two weeks, so theoretically mail should get to you on the days when your area isn't on strike. I say 'theoretically'.

We keep having our letters delivered down our Chimney!

My wife thinks its a case of Blackmail.......

I think strikes will continue like this - short periods and at intervals - until the postal workers settle their dispute with management.(And then that should be in the papers) It doesn't help that the two sides are among the worst in the UK for management/staff relations.

Oh no, the entire Post Office going postal!

The scary thing is, in the United States, if the Post Office went on strike now, few would notice.

A few days without getting a bill through the post will be quite nice actually...(that shows the amount of 'nice' mail I get!)

Hi Mike, (one Mike to another), yes not much nice mail anymore. In are you reading, I recently posted a book called For the Love of Letters by Samara O'Shea. This way people can send "nice" letters

I'm seriously non-tekkie & rely on my post: the ******* bills are directdebit so I don't even have that consolation. Mike, you just reminded me: when we were in NY we used a real Post office there & the guy looked just like they do (did?) in the films...are you telling me that's no more?

Linda, my fathers father worked for the Post Office. My dad one summer worked there heaving mail sacks. During the Great Depression, many people who were way overqualified took the job, because it was a government job when it was hard to get work.

Now, you see fewer letter boxes on the street. You only go into the Post Office for certain things. We have a P.O. Box for business and writing stuff and also in the United States, you pick up and drop off your passport application as well as get your photo in the Post Office. I think I have seen my delivery postman fewer than ten times in four years.
