Palinite Get Together by tucsonmike on 18 November 2007 10:54pm

Some of us were looking @ Chicago for next year. I am waiting to hear about whether papers were accepted @ the Romance Writers Conf. of America, which would be the end of July beginning of August.
That is in San Francisco.

I have to be in Boston and New York in October.

London has the most Intl. flights coming into it. I am curious. What is the least expensive part of the U.K. that is a good place for a get together?

I am looking at Mexico. Easy to get to on First Class buses from U.S. points.

Yes I resurrected the idea, only with more info.
Now I am going to watch the Steelers with Jack.

In terms of the UK Mike, your best bet might be Birmingham or Mancheter, if you want to avoid London.

Are you serious about a Mexico get together? I would be well up for that!

I am dead serious about Mexico. From London, there is a direct flight to Mexico City. From Sydney, you fly to Los Angeles.
First class bus service in Mexico is excellent. We can get on buses in Downtown Tucson and ride cheaply into Mexico.
All of our currencies would do well there.

Just let me know what part of Mexico, whether people want to sightsee or just hang out.

LOL! Johnny, will Scotland use Pounds Sterling or the Euro when it becomes independent?

Re: Palinite Get Together by johnnythemonkey on 19 November 2007 3:09am

The yankee dollar Mike ! Worthless like Scotland's independance. ;)

Our dollar is not doing real well, John.
OK raise your hands, y'all. Who wants to go where?

I've never visited the States Mike but it is good value for us Brits who are used to being ripped off for everything with the pound being worth two dollars. But it obviously makes it more expensive for you guys to come here and American tourists are a great contributor to the Scottish holiday market.

I'm happy to do anywhere transatlantic.
I have a yearning to hit Mexico or Cuba, but the idea of Barbados sounds good.
Would be nice if we coul so a mix of sightseeing, bar hopping/coffee shops/cafes and lazing on the beach.
