A bit of a scare. by kazzzz on 7 May 2008 3:12pm

We've had a bit of a worrying couple of days. 2 days ago Ava was very lethargic and not herself at all. Kathryn and I were here with her in the evening when she threw her head back and her eyes rolled back and she went into a seizure and then lost consciousness for about 45 minutes. It was awful. Kathryn was amazing, handling the phone calls to the ambulance and Ava's dad who was at work.
The ambulance got here in under 5 minutes and they were great. Ava came to inthe ambulance when we were almost at the hospital. We're all exhausted the poor little thing didn't sleep well there and I had no sleep at all from worrying. We came home last night.
She has to have an EEG ( I think that's what it's called) as she had no fever or temperature when it occured, and these things usually go hand in hand. They are going to check her for epilepsy and the paeditrician will see her again in the next few days. I just hope it was a one off. I've never been so scared in my life!

Try not to worry kazzzz - it's not uncommon. I'm thinking of you and send all good wishes.

Keep us all informed when you can kazzzz. Little one's illnesses can be very scary but the little mites recover quickly. You and 'Ray' and the girls must be shattered though. My wife also sends her thoughts to you. I showed her the pictures of your gorgeous baby and she asked me to pass on her best wishes.

John & Margaret.
