Music stuck in your head ? by johnnythemonkey on 6 June 2008 5:10am

At the moment, it's L'Estate Presto from Vivaldi's Four Seasons with the great Nigel Kennedy.

I should'nt play it when I'm driving as I know it makes my foot go down.

Esa Noche by Cafe Tacuba. It's just a teenage heartbreak song, but it's an unplugged version by one of Mexico's biggest rock bands, sung in Spanish.

R.Vaughan Williams' Fantasy on English folk-songs, heard at a RVW study-day last Saturday. Wonderful tunes, going back to Elizabethan times.

"Galaxy Song" by dear ol' Eric Idle.

Oh dear. I always get AWFUL stuff stuck in my head! Yesterday I couldn't stop singing, "What Kind of Fool Am I?", and this morning, I was stuck with "I Think I Love You" by the Partridge Family! I often get John Cleese's "Ferret Song" stuck in my head, too.

But it beats the mash up of "Don't Fear the Reaper" (Blue Oyster Cult) and "Lazy Day" (Spanky and Our Gang) I had going awhile back.

If that's the one "I've got a ferret sticking up my nose" then it's the tune of a really jingoistic (I think) folk-type song called "Rose of England".

Oddly enough, Maggie Smith in "A Private Function" playing the wife of Michael's pout-upon chiropidist character, at one point plays that tune over conversation.

As a testament to my love of UK talent, I have "Mercy" by Duffy stuck in my head. Think Amy Winehouse without the drug problems and with a significant resemblance to Brigitte Bardot. That's her.

"Everyone loves Magical Trevor, everyone knows that his tricks are clever, look at him now with his leathery leathery whip".

"Viva la Vida", Coldplay's newest song. It's absolutely amazing.
