  The Chatter Box : Travel
London odysseys by thoughtcat on 30 April 2003 11:55am

I have walked around France, lived in Paris, visited Ireland, Spain and Greece and the four corners of the UK. I also got married and honeymooned in Thailand. (I run a website called thoughtcat.com where a travelogue of this Thai adventure is published in instalments.) However, none of this exotica comes close to my one-day trek around some 30 London locations featured in the work of my favourite living novelist, Russell Hoban (author of books including Kleinzeit, The Lion of Boaz-Jachin & Jachin-Boaz, The Medusa Frequency, Turtle Diary, The Bat Tattoo and Riddley Walker). Is this niche or just plain nerdy? I hope you'll drop by www.thoughtcat.com/sa4qe and decide for yourself! Incidentally, any resemblance between the photo of me and the cover of Michael Palin's Hemingway Adventure is entirely coincidental.

Best wishes to all travellers and Friends of Michael,
Richard Cooper

Sorry, I forgot to add, does anybody else have any stories of this kind of trip around London or any single city?
