President Obama, How's He Doing So Far? by tucsonmike on 21 April 2009 2:35pm

Inquiring minds want to know.;-)

tucsonmike;who are these 'inquiring minds'?? (Curiosity has already killed many cats)
You're asking the right question, buddy, but opinions vary. He's 9 days short of completing his first 100 days in office,so it's still probably too early to say/judge. Over those 100 days,Obama's approval rating has remained steady at 63%,whereas Bush and Clinton's ratings were in the mid-50's,so he's not doing too badly. Also he's reaching out to countries and world leaders that Bush had either never heard of,or wouldn't touch with a bargepole,so that's all good.
However,if in the next 5 months GM goes bankrupt,a lot of folks will say : "There you are,the economy is ruined and Obama couldn't stop it with all his many bailouts.." so inevitably he will get a lot of flak. But he's a courageous dude so I wish him luck.

Mitch Potter, writing in the The Toronto Star,Canada/April 20,2009 (plus readers comments) gives Obama a B-rating.

It's just so lovely to be able to listen to a Presidential press conference without cringing or throwing something at the television. On that count alone, I consider him to be a success. Finally, a President who thinks!

Husband & I still think he's just wonderful. A lodestar for the rest of the world. A world leader. New, good initiatives frequently. I hang onto his words when I catch his speeches. A hit in UK, Mike.

(Never heard of the breed of dog? Have they given it a name?)

Yes,Linda,it's a breed called a Portuguese Water dog, which is black, and looks somewhere between a poodle and a spaniel, and they've called it 'Bo' --presumably after the initials of the President.

Wrong about where the name came from.

He is named after Michelle Obama’s grandfather, who was nicknamed Diddley after blues singer Bo Diddley.

Well he looks better on the cover of the women's magazines that the last one did.

Of course I'd like to see him in red suspenders.

Sorry,patty;--jumping to conclusions is always risky, rather than speaking from actual knowledge.
BO DIDDLEY...of course! My compliments to you. Maybe they'll teach BO to play the guitar??

Ahhhh, nice. I bet the cuddly-toy versions of Bo are on sale already. Always envied a couple of friends who have a cuddly-toy Socks.
