Message from the real Michael Palin by Michael Palin on 7 May 2009 9:46am

I just want to reassure or possibly even disappoint those who have seen, picked up or been inspired by Twitter from a "Michael Palin". Whoever it is that leaves these messages, it's not me.

Michael Palin,
London, 7 May 2009

Ohh it's not? I added you Michael, wasn't entirely sure though as there had been speculation here about if it was you or not. Thankyou for the message. Off to delete the fake you from Twitter (which is a load of rubbish anyway from what I've seen).

I have just deactivated my Twitter account as it's utter rot.

Thanks for letting us know, Michael.

Imposters! Grrrr!

Thanks, Michael, for letting us know.

Did any of the Palinites post that the real Michael just told us it wasn't him? Would be nice to have the imposter "busted" on Twitter for all to see.

"Trouble at Mill?"............
quote: Monty Python, Ximinez "NOBODY (not even the "Twitter")expects the Spanish Inquistion"......"Amongst our qwerty keyboards are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to THE REAL Michael Palin...."Now, old "twitter'er" -- you are accused of heresy on three counts -- heresy by thought, heresy by word, heresy by deed, heresy by action...(four)-- Do you confess?" (Palinites angrily hurl cushions at computer) !

Re: Message from the real Michael Palin by bIG bLOGGER on 7 May 2009 3:02pm

I'm just glad to hear that Michael Palin is a real person, and is very particular about, and naturally jealous of,his identity and that the real Michael Palin IS the real Michael Palin,if you see what I mean, and that this thread belongs to the real Michael Palin.

....Phew,I exhausted myself there!!!

Anyway,I reckon that attempting to steal someone's identity (and especialy a dear Celebrity's Identity like our Michael's) is a heinous matter indeed, and should receive the full penalty applicable under the Law.

Let the flogging begin, then turn the miscreant over to MATRON!

I still love Twitter, but I'll delete the fake Michael Palin from my "following" list. Did you notify Twitter, Michael?

If it's any consolation to you, Michael, the person impersonating you seems like a very nice fellow.
