Good news by Ken Dunn on 2 September 2009 6:08pm

I get fed up reading and hearing about gloom and doom in the media. This thread is for any good news you'd like to share to brighten our day.
I have an item for submission later.

For those of you who don't have any good news please go to the Big Green Joke Book.

I'm getting ready to pack for a concert and an overnight stay in Manassas , Virginia---CIVIL WAR country where we haven't visited in about 20 years. It has been gorgeously cool and clear for this time of year in the mid-Atlantic so I am very excited for two days of pure delight!

Me, too, Ken! Pats, have a great time on your trip!
Oh...good news chez Teabag? I was able to see "Julie and Julia" with one of my friends today. Fantastic movie!
Kaz's birthday is another piece of good news.

Wasn't Julie and Julia great? I have already had my good news with the essay lol! I agree Ken, tired of bad news.

Good news? They have nearly finished fitting our new rads!

No problem really, it has only been a day, but it is inconvenient to be honest - especially with Tosun wanting to fuss them!! We have had to keep him out of the way.

Plus the fact that we had to move stuff out of the way yesterday.
:)

An American lady pilot was flying from Iceland to Prestwick a few days ago and hit bad weather near Machrahannish?. She circled there while a helicopter was scrambled from Prestwick (probably HMS Gannet) and it flew to pick her up. The helicopter flew on her wing, Top Gun style, to guide her in. Because of the bad weather the helicopter had to stay close alongside the aircraft to be seen and she landed safely, thanking the helicopter crew by radio.

( I googled this to check the details and The Sun, typical of tabloid rag newspapers, has made it into a bad news story - at least they have a nice picture of Ben Nevis attached to the item!)

Yes! Indeed, let us all share some good news. The run of pink salmon in one of our local rivers is numbering approximately double what was anticipated this year. Good food for everyone, from the bears to the birds to the humans.

Happy Trekker

The Water Minister, Tim Holding, who had been lost on a mountain for a few nights in very cold conditions, has been found safe and a bit dehydrated but apart from that, OK.

Hooray!!!
