Help! by fairygirl48 on 7 September 2009 4:40am

As someone who is stranded in the States and therefore has very limited access to international editions of magazines, would anyone be so kind as to pick up the October issue of Conde Nast Traveller and scan or transcribe Michael's article on Kolkata? I really want to read it but haven't had a bit of luck finding in a bookstore or online. I'd be indebted to anyone willing to give me my Palin fix before my copy of his diaries arrives later this month. ;-)

By living in the USA, you should be able to buy a copy of "Conde Nast Traveler", Heather. I used to have a subscription to it for many years, but no longer. Is there some reason you can't find it in your area of the country? Try a library or a bookshop, rather than a drug store. Of course, if you are talking about a previous year, well, that's a different story. Still, a library could help you in that instance.

The problem is that the article is in the UK edition, not the US, and that's what I can't find.

Checked the only other bookstore in town that sells UK magazines to no avail. Brits of this site, could you kindly help a fellow Palinite out?

Heather, I have a copy of the October Conde Nast Traveller magazine with the article. I will try and scan the pages at work - there are several of them, also with stunning photos by Basil Pao. I will see what I can do but I don't know if the scanning will do the photos justice.

Sue, you're an angel! As long as I can read the article I'll be content. Thank you SO much!

I will bring the magazine to work tomorrow.

Heather, I have sent the article to your email address on Vital Statistics, I hope this is OK.

I see that you have just had a birthday. Belated birthday wishes!

Sue
