RIP Patrick Swayze by TERRY S on 15 September 2009 5:05pm

Just for anyone who hasn't heard, Patrick Swayze (most famous for his role as Johnny Castle in Dirty dancing) has died. I though he was great in that film. Bit of trivia: Did you know that his dance partner in the film - Cynthia Rhodes, not Jennifer Grey - is actually Richard Marx's wife. Lucky her.

Aaaaahhhhh the Saturday Night Live Chippendale's audition sketch with Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley... He seemed like a sweet guy. RIP

I'm really sorry to hear that. He had quite a struggle and he put up a good fight.

TERRRY S: Thanks to you for posting this! [I didn't want to be the one to do another Obituary..]

Cyn Rhodes played 'Penny' in DD,and her role is an essential part of the screenplay because it impinges upon the cad waiter boy and upon Johnny Castle and on Baby Houseman and on her father, played by Jerry Orbach [Law And Order].

I wasn't aware that she is married to Richard Marx [Right Here Waiting]--I'd say that HE is the lucky One!!-- but apparently she has given up acting to be a home-mum now. Cynthia Rhodes is a very good-looking girl and also had parts in 2 other romantic movies: FLASHDANCE and STAYING ALIVE.

Patrick Swayze was only 57.

Who is Richard Marx?

He had unbelieveable courage (one of the few stories, tabloids sort of got right). RIP. Sorry he had to suffer so much, but an inspiration to others.

This is Richard Marx - he's the one driving the car.

Just WTF is going on? A friend of one of my friends passed on from the same kind of cancer the day before Patrick did, and the mom of one of our other friends has it,too. Godspeed, Patrick, and thanks. I still get giggles thinking about him and Chris Farley in the Chippendales skit.

It goes like that, a few weeks ago we either knew the people or knew of them 9 deaths in a few weeks. Awful.
