Everybody should see the film "Moon" by kisch on 18 September 2009 7:47pm

Best film I've seen this year !
Directed by Duncan Jones (Godson of Eric Idle, apart from many other talents), it's an independent low-budget and totally TERRIFIC sci-fi. Am just back from Russian premiere and still under the great impression.
Starring Sam Rockwell as the only character, beautifully shot, marvellowsly designed and very well edited. Fantastic soundtrack, too.
I can see why Terry Gilliam loved it.
Fans of contemporary Hollywood bubblegum sci-fi epics won't like it. Not much special effects:)
But if you like more clever stuff, go and see it. If you are a fan of old school sci-fi classics - go and see it.
"Solaris" allusions are clear (I mean the old film, not the recent Hollywood PC bubblegum), but it doesn't distract you from enjoying it.
I don't usually write rave reviews, but this is the rare occasion I just have to !

I had to take a 32 mile round trip to go and see this due to it's limited release. Apparantly the film was made for just £5m. It has been treated terribly.

So... erm... you didn't like it ?...
Sorry then. I won't make any more suggestions.

I wanted to see this film but never got round to it, so missed it. I heard it was very good.

Duncan Jones, not just godson of Eric Idle but real son of David Bowie and formerly known as Zowie Bowie until he perhaps wisely or maybe mundanely changed it to Duncan Jones (Bowie being originally David Jones). So son of Starman becomes a Moonage Daydream!

No I thought it was great, hence my rant at the terrible treatment of this film.

No doubt if it had been based on a Marvel comic book it would have had a nationwide release and people would have gone to see it in their droves not caring a jot about whether or not it was any good.
