Iran by HastobeKatt on 5 July 2010 6:23pm

Has anyone here visited Iran recently? I was hoping to visit Syria, Jordan and Iran as I am fascinated by the histry and architecture but, with the current political situation, I wasn't sure how advisable this was. Are there any areas in Iran that I should avoid?

I would be travelling as a single female.

No, I've not been there, but it is on my life list. :)

If you go to Rick Steves' site (http://ricksteves.com),
there's info there on traveling in Iran. He did a special on traveling in Tehran, Espahan, and Persepholis and through some rural areas.
You also might want to go to http://globetrekkertv.com. They've done several shows on Iran and Mid-East travel and might have some resources. Blessings on your travels!
