Trayvon Martin by tucsonmike on 11 April 2012 2:10am

That's what I've been concentrating on with my writing lately.

This initially reminded me a bit of the Mark Duggan shooting in England last August, I think it was?

The mother of Martin said today that she believes the shooting was an accident, she said the family just wanted an arrest and now Zimermann is charged with second degree murder.

I saw a news report of this including a recording of Zimmerman's call to the police. When told that Zimmerman was going to follow him with his gun, the police personnel said to him, "We don't need you to do that."

If Zimmerman was told to put the gun away and to remain in his vehicle, there would have been no killing by Zimmerman. A case where more clear instruction may have prevented a serious incident.

Here in the civilised world, if you knocked down a dog with you car, you would be more accountable to the police than seems the case in Florida if you shoot a person dead and a cop agrees it was self defence.
