Cars ! A pain in the ... by johnnyBgood! on 26 April 2012 10:21am

I went to start my car and the key just turned beyond the start position with nothing happening. I know that a spare key costs about £120, so a new ignition barrel+key+labour+VAT, makes me feel like phoning a scrap dealer, as the car hardly gets used ( I have two cars. )

Any kind of insurance that might cover that?

Sure your lock is broken? Sure it's not just a flooded engine?

Seems like the ignition barrel, the key just does 180 degrees of nothing.

My back is giving me hell and I can't be arsed dealing with anything. It can lie and rust in the drive, I don't give a ****.

You could set fire to it in the driveway, and say that some feral kids did it.

ev, I've thought about that !

It's probably a symptom of my personality but I feel when 'daft' things go wrong with cars etc, the world is against me.

I accept that things like tyres, brakes, exhaust or suspension are wear and tear and can be expensive but my electric window 'went' last year and it cost me £300. You expect these things just to function. The bloody window seized in in open position ! If it had've seized closed, I'd have left it that way.

Lucky white heather ?
