Short story competition by Loretto on 11 July 2012 2:09pm

Ok folks, the winner will get a copy of The Truth not signed by Michael Palin, what more could you ask for. We each will judge the other's work. On a scale of 1-10 we will mark for over-all enjoyment of the story. Spelling and grammar, plot, conflict, resolution, character development etc all makes a great story.

The theme will be A Journey, ( it is Palinstravels after all!)

Word count should be between 1,000 to 1,500.
Last day to post your entry will be.....August 31.
Have fun!!!!

Itz abut ritin' da rite way! You have a great story George, write it! This little competition could be the beginnings of your book about your Dad!

'George' is called John you silly Irish girl !

The word count is fine for me as in writing but I can talk thousands of words in minutes. :)

The word count is a constraint we will have to work with. My keyboard thanks the Competition Committee for this...it saves on overheating and excessive wear and tear.

You do know that I can type at 50 w.p.m.? Too bad I can only think at 20!

(:p

Good luck and literary loquaciousness to all competitors.

Thanks for the name correction there Ringo!

:-)

Don't post your stories here under your names. We'll discuss how we are going to post them nearer to the date.

How stringent is webmaster I wonder about anything posted on here belonging to Palinstravels? I'm all about retaining the rights to my masterpieces you know??? What if we all have fantastic stories and want to make them into a collection? Hmmm?

I might rise to this challenge, a thousand words or so will be a piece of cake but I will cheat on the theme of travel. Some of my best anecdotes that I would base my story on, involve the 15 minute journey to Glasgow !

Loretto, I bounced this off my referee (Elaine). 1000 words minimum, 3000 maximum.
