Return flight from PVR to YYJ

Wasn't planning on boring the reader with a mundane account of just another plane flight, but I have a double post to contend with.
I had the best seat on the plane - beside the emergency exit. I chose this seat for a few reasons: no seat in front of me so I had plenty of leg room; the most reliable man on the plane opens the door in the unlikely event the emergency door would be needed; I would be the first out of, and hopefully away from, an aircraft in difficulty. |

When we book our flights to Turkey (with Pegasus, a Turkish airline) we always book extra legroom seats. It is extra, but not as much as most airlines charge. You can choose the seats you want online. They also include 20 kg luggage in the price - which is now usually an 'extra', and is usually 15 kg.
We usually take sandwiches (buying a 'meal deal' at the airport Boots), but you can also pre-select a meal, and they range from steak to sandwiches.
It is a scheduled airline and we've always found them to be very good. We have flown with them internally in Turkey too. Sometimes they have what they call 'Campaign prices' with deals, for example your return flight free!
We have 2 flights booked (return), for June and November this year. The June one is costing us a total of just over £300 and the November a total of £274 - not bad for four-hour flights !!
This compares with, say, Thomas Cook, whose basic flights (pre-luggage/seat selection/taxes, etc) is about £350 EACH!!

You have a new competition there, LT.
My guesses are Mexico and Canada for the airport code letters but the letters are usually based on a nearby town/city so I know I'm not right.

Puerto Vallarta (on the Mexican Pacific coast)) and Victoria (on Vancouver Island)

Glad you had a good seat, Pete. It makes all the difference.
Anne, you can choose your seats on Easyjet now. Hard to believe. When I flew with them to Zurich last year, I painstakingly chose my seat online but, because there was a child sitting by the emergency exit doors and wasn't supposed to as should be adults sitting there, they asked people to swap. Reluctantly I and the two girls next to me agreed. |

Not sure if you meant you had to move FROM or TO an exit seat Sue, so.....if the former 'booooo!' if the latter.....'yay!' !!
A couple of years ago we had pre-booked our seats (exit) and then found when we got to check-in that they had changed the plane they were going to use! As it was a different seat formation the seat numbers we got were not the same as we had booked. They were still exit seats, but we were still entitled to receive a refund of the cost of pre-booking the seats. This was done without any arguing from Pegasus.
Our favourite flights with any airline are those that are nearly half empty so you can spread out!!
I/we have never flown Easyjet and I have to say I have been put off by the TV series 'Airline', though I have to say I LOVED the programme, and enjoy watching repeats of it even now (I have just watched an episode!).
It isn't the actual flights that put me off, which seem to be as good as any other airline, but the attitude of the ground staff, especially at check-in. I have to admit I get quite cross sometimes at their attitude towards passengers (their clients!!) !!

Good seat, but a little drafty. I wore my leather jacket on the flight back from Mexico.
I've flown Westjet the last few times for short flights. Not cheap...nothing in Canada is. I met my first two goals...get off the airplane twice. |

I know it can be drafty sitting next to the door, Pete!!
SOMETMES, not when booking seats online, but getting an exit seat at check-in you can be given a non-extra legroom exit seat!! So disappointing to board the plane thinking of all the room you are going to have, to find you have a normal seat but with a door (usually on the wing) !!

Sorry, Anne, we were moved TO an exit seat but I don't remember whether we had extra legroom or not. |
