  The Chatter Box : Travel
exciting michigan... by free me from america on 4 October 2003 4:00am
hmm. yes, as the subject says, michigan, USA, is oh-so-exciting. though somewhat sarcastic, i must say, that even though i unfortunately reside in michigan, beautiful things can be found. i really can't exactly travel out of the country, not even to canada because 1. i'm a student=no time, 2. UNDER AGE (16). age can be such a bugger. anyway, my most favorite place to "travel" to, only eight hours away from where i live, is located in the upper peninsula of the state. i've been going to this place for about 5 years now, and i stay there for a week at a time every summer. MACKINAC ISLAND. such a glorious place. left virtually undisturbed by the madness of the world, cars, pollution, and whatnot. especially in the summer when the lilacs are in bloom, everywhere on the island there is the fresh scent of lilacs. not to mention that right when you step off the ferry and onto the island, you get slapped in the face by the smell of horse manure. reall is a wonderful thing. the whole island is horse powered! the history there is so interesting to learn about, and just to wander around the island can take a day or two...
so, to end the rambling of all ramblings, someday, i'd like to visit england (because of all the wonderful people there, and the accents) :), new zealand, ireland, and italy. i'll probably study abroad in college or something. ho hum. for now, i'll just have to bear staying in the boring USA. :)
